About Home Care Education
In addition to regular dental visits, good oral hygiene at home is essential to help your smile last a lifetime. At Hingham Dentistry, we are committed to taking an active role in educating our patients about home dental care practices. Our helpful, knowledgeable staff is happy to provide useful information, demonstrate correct brushing and flossing techniques, and answer any questions about maintaining your oral health. We can also help address special concerns, such as dealing with tooth sensitivity, choosing a mouth guard, or caring for dental restorations.

Things you can do to prevent tooth decay and gum disease between cleanings:
- Brush twice per day for at least two minutes each time
- Floss daily
- Eat a well-balanced diet
- Avoid sugary drinks and snacks
- Continue getting regular dental exams and cleanings
- If you smoke, try to quit
