Biography
One of the things Dr. Virginia Shahinian finds most rewarding is the lifelong friendships she makes with her patients. She appreciates the opportunity to learn a multitude of things from all different types of people. She enjoys working alongside her incredible team every day as well as her husband, Dr. Rustam DeVitre, and her daughter, Dr. Adrina DeVitre.
Dr. Virginia Shahinian graduated from Boston University in 1974 and received her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1977. She then attended the Postgraduate Program in Prosthodontics at Tufts and received her Certificate of Prosthodontics in 1979. Dr. Shahinian taught in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Tufts from 1977 until 1982. Throughout her career, she has taken numerous continuing education courses because of her commitment to offering the finest dental care with the most up-to-date technology and methodology.
Dr. Shahinian established Hingham Dentistry in 1990. She specializes in creating beautiful smiles for her patients and is known for her gentle and caring attitude. She has extensive experience with laminate veneers, crowns, bridges, implants, dentures and partial dentures, and fillings. Dr. Shahinian is a member of the South Shore District Dental Society and the American Dental Association. She was recently honored by the Massachusetts Dental Society into their Lifetime Membership circle.
Dentistry is a shared passion within Dr. Shahinian’s family. In addition to her husband and daughter, she also has two nephews and a niece who have recently entered the profession. She values the shared connection and enjoys exchanging ideas about dentistry at family gatherings. In her spare time, Dr. Shahinian reads, watches independent films, bikes, walks in nature, and travels to tropical destinations where she can immerse herself in local cultures (and the sea!). Above all, she treasures her time spent with her children and grandchildren, experiencing life from their perspective.
