Hingham Dentistry is a family-run, multi-specialty dental practice located at 169 Lincoln St, Hingham, MA 02043. This privacy policy explains how we handle information collected through this website only. It does not cover information you give us in the office, over the phone, or through your dental record.

2. Important HIPAA notice

Health information you share with us as a patient is protected health information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). That information is governed by our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, not by this website policy. The Notice of Privacy Practices is available at our office and on request, and it explains how we may use and disclose your health information and the rights you have over it. Our privacy officer is Dr. Adrina DeVitre.

This website privacy policy does not replace, limit, or amend the Notice of Privacy Practices. If the two documents ever conflict regarding protected health information, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls.

3. Information we collect

We collect the following information through this website:

• Contact form submissions, including your name, email address, phone number, and the message you write.
• Appointment request information, including your name, contact details, preferred days and times, the reason for your visit, and any notes you add.
• Automatically collected technical data, including your IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, and the pages you visit on our site.

4. Online forms

Patient forms are handled through a HIPAA-compliant third-party forms provider, and submissions are encrypted in transit. Please do not include detailed medical information in our general contact form or in ordinary email. Those channels are not intended for clinical details. 5. Cookies and analytics

This website does not use advertising or analytics trackers, and it does not load third-party advertising technologies such as Google or Meta pixels. The only browser storage the site uses is what is technically necessary for pages to function. Because nothing non-essential loads, no cookie consent banner is needed.

Patient forms are processed by a separate HIPAA-compliant provider and are never subject to advertising technologies.

• We schedule, confirm, and follow up on appointments.
• We improve how the website works and what it explains.
• With your consent, we market our services to you.

We do not sell personal information.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we collected through this website.

8. Data security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, consistent with the Massachusetts data security regulations at 201 CMR 17.00. No website or transmission method is completely secure, so please use the phone for anything sensitive.

9. Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children online. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information through this site may contact us and we will delete it.

10. Text messages

When you provide a phone number on one of our forms, you consent to be contacted about your inquiry, including by text message where you have given us a mobile number. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of treatment. Reply STOP to opt out of text messages at any time.

11. Third-party links

Our site links to other websites, including map, review, and forms providers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Read their policies before sharing information with them.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website or the law changes. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
