Fluoride Treatment

Topical fluoride applications strengthen enamel and help prevent cavities for patients of all ages.

Fluoride is a safe, naturally occurring mineral that strengthens enamel and helps prevent cavities. It can reverse very early decay but cannot heal a cavity that has already formed.

Tooth decay begins when bacteria and sugars in the mouth form acids that erode protective enamel through demineralization. Professional fluoride contains a higher concentration than drinking water or over-the-counter toothpaste, so it can reinforce enamel where extra protection is needed.
